Importing into Kenya: what to have ready

Import Declaration Form (IDF)

Kenyan importers normally lodge an IDF through the KenTrade single window before the goods ship. Share your IDF details with us so the documents match.

KEBS PVoC certificate

Many regulated products need a Certificate of Conformity under the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVoC) programme, arranged before shipment in India. Tell us early if your products fall under it.

EAC Common External Tariff

Kenya applies the East African Community tariff, so duty depends on the HS code. Your clearing agent can confirm the rate for each line. We can share the HS codes we use.

Specify to Kenyan practice

For pipes, give the pressure class and the sizing standard your project uses. For tractors and rotavator parts, give the model or drawing, so what arrives fits what is already in the field.

General guidance only. Rules change, so confirm current requirements with your clearing agent or the relevant authority before shipment.
